A Letter from our Chairman and CEO

Dear Valued Stillman Customer,
I wanted to let you know about an article that was in a recent edition of the Rockford Register Star. The article discussed one statistic used to measure a bank’s strength is its risk-based capital ratio. Simply put, the percentage of a bank’s capital in relation to their total assets.
A bank with a capital ratio of 8 percent is considered adequately capitalized, and ratios of more than 10 percent are considered well-capitalized. So, the higher the ratio - the stronger the institution. Unfortunately, Stillman Bank was omitted from a list of ten banks in Boone, Ogle and Winnebago counties. We regret we were excluded from this list knowing that we are one of the strongest banks in the area. Our ratio is an exceptionally well-capitalized 18.23%. That is a testament to the sound practices we follow.

If you have any questions on this, don’t hesitate to call your local Stillman office or click one of of the links on our homepage. Also, don't forget to check out our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section on FDIC coverage.
Thank you,
Gary L. Rhodes
Chairman and CEO
